The Olympia Downtown Alliance is seeking acoustic music for "Sidewalk Performances," on June, July and August Third Thursdays.  Performances are for 1 hour.  Start times vary from 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Performers will be paid $100 per person, per hour. 1- 3 performers max per group. This program sponsored by the City of Olympia, in partnership with the Olympia Downtown Alliance.    

Walking to work, The Olympia Farmers Market or one of Oly’s downtown restaurants’ many Happy Hour options are all things Andrea Tawes, Marketing Coordinator at The Rants Group, enjoys about living in the heart of downtown Olympia. Originally from Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Tawes has called downtown Olympia home for 10 years.

Run AND have fun, you ask? It's true; you can do both right here in downtown Olympia. Fit and fun Olympia residents have formed social clubs around the theme of combining exercise with sampling some local beers. With the warmer weather coming, it's a great time to get out and exercise and reward yourself by sipping a brew outside while enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest views. 

National Library Week is right around the corner — April 7 – 13 — and in celebration, we’re highlighting downtown Olympia bookstores, shops that sell books and, of course, our local downtown library!

Downtown Olympia’s Third Thursdays are a community celebration of local culture, art, food, music and unique shopping experiences. Participating businesses give special Third Thursday discounts, extend happy hours and hold artist receptions. Shoppers enjoy live music from buskers and the mood is vibrant.
