ODA Office / Tuesday, March 24, 2020 / Categories: Uncategorized Update: Legion Way Road Closure Scheduled On Monday, March 23, the City's contractor will close the intersection at Legion Way and Washington Street to install a new watermain On Monday, March 23, the City's contractor will close the intersection at Legion Way and Washington Street to install a new watermain. The intersection will remain closed through Friday, March 27. Crews will be onsite from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and detour signs will be posted. Pedestrian access through the intersection will be allowed. Please use caution traveling through the area and watch for flaggers. The Legion Way Improvements project, identified in the Downtown Strategy as a major investment in downtown infrastructure, began in late February and will continue throughout the spring and summer. Motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians should be prepared for alternating one-way traffic and flaggers in the area. Improvements include a raised intersection at Legion Way and Washington Street with an extension of bicycle facilities from Capitol Way west to Water Street. In addition, Legion Way will be resurfaced from Water Street to Franklin Street. The project will make the intersection more beautiful, will improve walkability, improve ADA accessibility, and will be more bicycle-friendly.
