Updated Shop & Dine Guide Helps Support Downtown Restaurants and Shops During ‘StayHome’ Proclamation

Shop & Dine Guide Helps Support Downtown Olympia

This week, the Olympia Downtown Alliance in partnership with the City of Olympia launched a new online Shop & Dine guide.

“Many people were asking how they could stay up-to-date on which restaurants were open for take-out and which shops had online ordering available, so we partnered with the City of Olympia to develop a Shop and Dine Guide,” said Todd Cutts, Executive Director of Olympia Downtown Alliance.

The guide is located on the Why I Go Downtown website,, created earlier this year as a way to tell good news stories about downtown. The Alliance surveyed all downtown businesses to collect the information that populates the directory, but as word spreads more businesses are sending in how shoppers and diners can connect with them. “This is a work in progress,” said Cutts. “Our plan is to keep building the directory to include every business downtown as a valuable resource to the community.”

Governor Inslee’s ‘Stay Home’ proclamation closed all restaurant dining rooms, but allows restaurants to deliver and offer takeout. Many downtown restaurants have curbside pickup as well. Most downtown stores are closed, but many encourage patrons to call to order their favorite products, which stores can ship. Both Archibald Sisters and Browser’s Bookshop offer phone in or online ordering as does Encore Teas.
